At Harambee Elementary, we’re a school community rooted in environmental science and community culture committed to student-centered learning. Our name, Harambee, means “working together for a common purpose,” and that spirit is at the heart of everything we do.
We offer a one-of-a-kind pre-kindergarten through sixth grade education with a focus on environmental science and community connection. Students learn in the classroom and explore the outdoors, engage in hands-on learning, and discover how they can make a positive impact in the world around them.
Harambee is the only school in the Twin Cities offering a unique blend of environmental learning and community connection, with a small school environment and free transportation.
Families across the Twin Cities choose Harambee not only for our specialized program and small-school feel, but also because we make access easier with free bus transportation across many Twin Cities communities.
From our onsite preschool through elementary school, Harambee provides a seamless and supportive learning journey. With a small school community, strong relationships, and engaging learning opportunities, students are supported and challenged as they learn and grow. Looking for a nurturing start for your kindergartner or a fresh school option for your elementary student? We are currently enrolling students in Pre-K through Grade 6, with a strong preschool-to-kindergarten transition program for families already enrolled on-site preschool.
